Deryck James Norman Bazalgette was born in 1913.1 He was the son of Charles Ian Bazalgette and Marion Edith Bunn.1 He married Ruth M. Andrews.1 He married Margaret Bonham, daughter of Francis John Bonham, in March 1941.2 He and Margaret Bonham were divorced.2 He died in 2010.1

He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.) in 1943.3 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Squad Leader in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.) posthumously.3
