     Major Ernest Elliot Edlmann was born on 24 November 1868 at Leamington, Warwickshire, England.1 He was the son of Major Joseph Ernest Edlmann and Caroline Sim Elliot.1 He married Evelyn Lorne Campbell, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Lorne Campbell, in 1908.1 He died on 17 April 1915 at age 46 at Iraq, from wounds received in action.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Garrison Artillery.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He fought in the First World War.1

     He gained the rank of Major in the 1st King's Dragoon Guards.1
