Edward Loveden was born circa 1750 at Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England.1 He married, firstly, Margaret Pryse, daughter of Lewis Pryse, on 15 July 1773.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Darker, daughter of John Darker, on 20 August 1785.1 He married, thirdly, Anne Lintall, daughter of Thomas Lintall, on 15 November 1794.1 He and Anne Lintall were divorced.1 He died on 4 January 1822 at Buscot Park, Faringdon, Oxfordshire, England.1
     He was given the name of Edward Townsend at birth.1 On 10 October 1772 his name was legally changed to Edward Loveden by Royal Licence.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Abbingcon between 1783 and 1796.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Shaftsbury between 1802 and 1812.1
