     Major Charles Hugh Gregory-Hood was born on 6 February 1877.2 He was the son of Hon. Alexander Frederick Gregory and Ethel Cecilia Heber-Percy.2 He married Dorothy Brooks, daughter of Hon. Marshall Jones Brooks and Florence Thomas, on 11 January 1911.1 He died on 30 October 1951 at age 74.2
     He was also known as Charles Hugh Hood.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Shropshire Royal Horse Artillery.2 He was Aide-de-Camp to General Sir H. L. Smith-Dorrien.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He fought in the Aden Campaign in 1904.2 He fought in the First World War, and was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2 On 19 October 1927 his name was legally changed to Charles Hugh Gregory-Hood by Deed Poll.2 He lived at Loxley Hall, Warwickshire, EnglandG.2

     Janet Forrester was the daughter of Sir John Forrester, 2nd of Corstorphine and Jean Sinclair.1 She married Robert Maxwell, 2nd Lord Maxwell, son of Herbert Maxwell, 1st Lord Maxwell and unknown daughter Herries, from 13 January 1424/25 to 4 February 1424/25.1 She died after 1488.1
     From from 13 January 1424/25 to 4 February 1424/25, her married name became Maxwell.1
