     Captain Sir Walter Robert Buchanan Riddell, 12th Bt. was born on 21 April 1879.2 He was the son of Sir John Walter Buchanan Riddell, 11th Bt. and Sarah Isabella Wharton.2 He married Hon. Rachel Beatrice Lyttelton, daughter of Charles George Lyttelton, 8th Viscount Cobham and Hon. Mary Susan Caroline Cavendish, on 28 August 1919.1 He died on 5 June 1934 at age 55.2
     He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st/9th Hampshire Regiment.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He was chairman of the University Grants Committee.2 He was Principal between 1922 and 1930 at Hertford College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Riddell, of Riddell, co. Roxburgh [N.S., 1628] on 31 October 1924.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Northumberland.2

     Sir John Charles Buchanan Riddell of that Ilk, 13th Bt. was born on 3 January 1934. He was the son of Captain Sir Walter Robert Buchanan Riddell, 12th Bt. and Hon. Rachel Beatrice Lyttelton.1 He married Hon. Sarah Richardson, daughter of Gordon William Humphrey Richardson, Baron Richardson of Duntisbourne and Margaret Alison Sheppard, on 31 July 1969.2 He died on 24 July 2010 at age 76.3
     He held the position of Chief of the Name and Arms of Riddell from in 1934.2 He succeeded as the 13th Baronet Riddell, of Riddell, co.      Sir John Lawrence Pumphrey was born on 22 July 1916.1 He was the son of Charles Ernest Pumphrey and Iris Mary Bell.1 He married Jean Riddell, daughter of Captain Sir Walter Robert Buchanan Riddell, 12th Bt. and Hon. Rachel Beatrice Lyttelton, on 1 June 1945.2 He died on 23 December 2009 at age 93 at Northumberland, England.1
     He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1963.1 He held the office of High Commissioner to Pakistan between 1971 and 1972.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Pakistan between 1972 and 1976.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1973.2
