     Emma Sophia Gresley was born on 17 April 1785 at Netherscal, Derbyshire, England.2 She was the daughter of Sir Nigel Bowyer Gresley, 7th Bt. and Wilmot Gresley.1,3 She married Richard Edensor Heathcote, son of Sir John Edensor Heathcote and Anne Gresley, on 16 August 1808 at Scarborough, Yorkshire, England.1 She died on 13 September 1813 at age 28.1
     From 16 August 1808, her married name became Heathcote.1
