     Reverend John Alexander Ireland was born on 12 July 1846 at St. Cuthberts, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹ He was the son of John Balfour Ireland and Barbara Baillie Scott.¹ He married Charlotte Chalmers Reid Falconer on 7 September 1887 at Denny Parish Church, Denny, Stirlingshire, Scotland.¹ He died on 7 July 1917 at age 70 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹

     Charlotte Chalmers Reid Falconer was born on 19 March 1856 at Denny, Stirlingshire, Scotland.¹ She married Reverend John Alexander Ireland, son of John Balfour Ireland and Barbara Baillie Scott, on 7 September 1887 at Denny Parish Church, Denny, Stirlingshire, Scotland.¹ She died on 22 August 1939 at age 83 at Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, England.¹
     From 7 September 1887, her married name became Ireland.¹

     John Balfour Ireland was born on 13 May 1891 at Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland.¹ He was the son of Reverend John Alexander Ireland and Charlotte Chalmers Reid Falconer.¹ He died on 8 September 1916 at age 25 at Somme, France, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Black Watch.¹
