     Edith Priscilla Elizabeth James was the daughter of William Edward James and Elizabeth Hill.1 She married Captain William Vaughan, son of Reverend William Vaughan, in February 1877.1 She died on 10 February 1915.1
     From February 1877, her married name became Vaughan.1

     Lt.-Col. Charles Ashton James was born on 10 October 1876.1 He was the son of William Edward Ashton James and Emily Annabella Wybergh.1 He married Evelyn Lilian Kekewich, daughter of Lewis Pendarves Kekewich, on 24 October 1912.1 He died on 20 February 1960 at age 83.1
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He was commissioned in 1897 with the rank of officer, in the service of the Border Regiment.1 He gained the rank of officer in 1898 in the Indian Army.1 He fought in the Boxer Rebellion in 1900.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Baluchistan Infantry, Indian Army.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919.1 He fought in the Afghan War in 1919, where he was mentioned in dispatches twice.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cumberland in 1928.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Cumberland in 1931.1 He lived at Barrock Park, Cumberland, EnglandG.1
