     She gained the rank of 3rd Officer in the Women's Royal Naval Service, during the Second World War.1 Her married name became Knight.

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 16th Punjab Regiment, Indian Army.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 Lt.-Col. Hugh Michael Allan Knight usually went by his middle name of Michael.1
