Sir Rupert John Hardy, 4th Bt., son of Sir Bertram Hardy, 3rd Bt. and Violet Agnes Evelyn Leigh, on 2 June 1930.2 She died on 8 February 2006 at age 97.3

     Lt.-Col. Sir Rupert John Hardy, 4th Bt. was born on 24 October 1902.1 He was the son of Sir Bertram Hardy, 3rd Bt. and Violet Agnes Evelyn Leigh.2 He married Hon. Diana Joan Allsopp, daughter of Charles Allsopp, 3rd Baron Hindlip of Hindlip and Agatha Lillian Thynne, on 2 June 1930.1 He died on 22 March 1997 at age 94.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1925 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1940.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Hardy, of Dunstall Hall, co. Stafford [U.K., 1876] on 16 September 1953.1 He retired from the military in 1957, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the Life Guards.1

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Hardy, of Dunstall Hall, co. Stafford [U.K., 1876] on 22 March 1997.2 He was an insurance broker.1 He lived in 2003 at Springfield House, Gillingham, Dorset, EnglandG.1 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.4

Sir Rupert John Hardy, 4th Bt. and Hon. Diana Joan Allsopp, on 22 October 1953.1 He and Rosemary Diana Hardy were divorced in 1972.1 He married, secondly, Dorothy Maureen Radclyffe, daughter of Major Charles Robert Eustace Radclyffe, in 1973.1 He died on 22 May 2021 at age 92.2
     Sir Robert David Black, 3rd Bt. usually went by his middle name of David.
