     Lt.-Col. Charles William Campbell, 9th Earl of Breadalbane and Holland was born on 11 June 1889.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Charles William Campbell of Borland and Gwynnedd Brinckman.1 He married Armorer Romer Williams, daughter of Romer Williams, on 10 August 1918.1 He died on 5 May 1959 at age 69.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Horse and Field Artillery.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 8th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise's.)2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Argyll.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Perth.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Perth.2 He succeeded as the 9th Viscount of Tay and Paintland [S., 1681] on 10 May 1923.1 He succeeded as the 9th Lord Glenurchy, Benederaloch, Ormelie and Weick [S., 1681] on 10 May 1923.1 He succeeded as the 13th Baronet Campbell, of Glenorchy, co. Perth [N.S., 1625] on 10 May 1923.1 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Breadalbane and Holland [S., 1681] on 10 May 1923.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1924 and 1959.2 He was admitted to HM's Honourable Corps of Gentleman-at-Arms in 1935.2 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers in 1937.2

     Armorer Romer Williams was the daughter of Romer Williams.2 She married, firstly, Captain Eric Nicholson before 1918.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Charles William Campbell, 9th Earl of Breadalbane and Holland, son of Maj.-Gen. Charles William Campbell of Borland and Gwynnedd Brinckman, on 10 August 1918.2 She died in 1987.2
     From before 1918, her married name became Nicholson.1 Her married name became Campbell. After her marriage, Armorer Romer Williams was styled as Countess of Breadalbane and Holland on 10 May 1923.
