Sir Alexander de Lindsay was the son of Sir David de Lindsay and Margaret (?).1
In 1244 he succeeded to lands in Northumberland granted to his father by Margaret, Countess of Pembroke.1 He lived at Crawford, Scotland.2 In 1308 he sat in Parliament [Scotland].1

Sir John Swinton of Swinton married Margaret, Countess of Mar, daughter of Donald, 8th Earl of Mar and Isabella Stewart, between 1385 and July 1388.1 He died on 14 September 1402 at Homildon Hill, Scotland, killed in action.1
As a result of his marriage, Sir John Swinton of Swinton was styled as Lord of Mar in 1388.1 He fought in the Battle of Homildon Hill on 14 September 1402.2

Sir William 'Le Hardi' Douglas of that Ilk was the son of Sir William of Douglas.1 He married Elizabeth Stewart, daughter of Alexander Stewart, 4th High Steward of Scotland and Jean Macrory.2 He married Eleanor de Lovaine, daughter of Sir Matthew de Lovaine. He died in 1298 at London, England, as a prisoner.1
