Sir David de Barry was the son of Sir William de Barry.1 He died in 1261 at Callan, Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland, killed in action.1
Sir David de Barry also went by the nick-name of Barrach Mor (or in English, the Great Barry).1 On 24 September 1234 a weekly market and yearly fair at his manor of Botavant [Buttevant, County Cork] was granted to him.2 In 1235 he enlarged the friary at Ballybeg.2 He lived at Olethan.1 He lived at Manobier Castle, Pembrokeshire, Wales.3 He fought in the Battle of Callan in 1261.1

David de Barry, 1st Lord Barry was the son of Sir David de Barry.1 He married Joan FitzMaurice, daughter of Maurice fitz Thomas, 1st Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw.2 He died in 1278.1 He was buried at Buttevant Abbey, Buttevant, County Cork, Ireland.2
