     Captain Robert Guy Cyril King was born on 1 April 1877.1 He was the son of Colonel John Robert King and Kate Elizabeth Francklyn.1 He married, firstly, Albertina Millicent Steele, daughter of Philip John Steele, on 12 December 1905.1 He married, secondly, Mary Catherine Russel, daughter of John Robert Russel, in 1919.1 He died on 22 April 1940 at age 63.1
     Captain Robert Guy Cyril King gained the rank of Captain in 1899 in the service of the Australian Artillery.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he won the King's and Queen's medals.1
