William Beardmore, 1st and last Baron Invernairn1

     William Beardmore, 1st and last Baron Invernairn was born on 16 October 1856.1 He was the son of William Beardmore.2 He married Elspeth Stiven Tullis, daughter of David Tullis, on 11 June 1902.1 He died on 9 April 1936 at age 79, without issue.1,3
     He was educated at High School, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG.2 He was educated at Ayr Academy, Ayrshire, ScotlandG.2 He was educated at School of Mines, South Kensington, London, EnglandG.2 He was registered as a Member, Institute of Civil Engineers (M.Inst.C.E.)2 He was chairman and managing director of William Beardmore and Company Ltd.2 He was created 1st Baronet Beardmore [U.K.] on 22 January 1914.2 He was president of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1917.2 He was created 1st Baron Invernairn, of Strathnairn, co. Inverness [U.K.] on 15 January 1921.2 He supported Antarctic exploration, and so Shackleton named the Beardmore Glacier after him.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.4
      On his death, his title became extinct.2

     Susanne Caroline Alder is the daughter of Edgar Alder.1 She married, firstly, Christopher Hodgson Moore before 1971.1 She married, secondly, Lord Valentine Charles Thynne, son of Henry Frederick Thynne, 6th Marquess of Bath and Hon. Daphne Winifred Louise Vivian, in 1971.1 She and Lord Valentine Charles Thynne were divorced in 1976.1
     From before 1971, her married name became Moore.1 From 1971, her married name became Thynne.1

Daphne Winifred Louise Vivian, on 17 August 1977 at The Old Meeting House, Horningsham, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1,2 She died in September 2005 at Bristol, EnglandG, by committing suicide.2
     She was also known as Liese Deniz.2 She was a fashion model.2 From before 1967, her married name became Weschke.1 From 17 August 1977, her married name became Thynne.1 She lived in 1999 at 16 Bedford Street, Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1
