     John Seton Howard Gordon of Abergeldie was born on 23 April 1938.2 He is the son of John Edmund Gordon and Emma Florence Howard.1 He married Gillian Anne Voelcker, daughter of Lt.-Col. Dennis Voelcker, on 4 May 1963.2
     John Seton Howard Gordon of Abergeldie was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1956 in the service of the Royal Marines.2 He was recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms as 21st Baron of Abergeldie, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Office 21st Baron of Abergeldie on 23 April 1963.2 He was recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Office on 9 September 1965.2 He lived in 2003 at Abergeldie Castle, Abergeldie-by-Ballater, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.2

     From 1914, her married name became Langdale keeping the surname Langdale during her second marriage.1
