     William Maurice Gordon fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902, in the London Scottish.1

     Colonel Charles Vincent Gordon was born on 2 December 1829.1 He was the son of Adam Gordon and Susan Swete.1 He married, firstly, Emma Morgan Godwin, daughter of Charles Godwin, on 15 June 1854.1 He married, secondly, Francis Edith Olliver, daughter of George Olliver, on 13 February 1866.1 He died on 6 June 1897 at age 67.1
     Colonel Charles Vincent Gordon gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Madras S.C.1

     Emma Morgan Godwin was the daughter of Charles Godwin.1 She married Colonel Charles Vincent Gordon, son of Adam Gordon and Susan Swete, on 15 June 1854.1 She died on 9 January 1859.1
     From 15 June 1854, her married name became Gordon.1
