     John Lucas, 1st Baron Lucas of Shenfield was born on 23 October 1606.1 He was the son of Thomas Lucas.2 He married Anne Neville, daughter of Sir Christopher Neville and Mary D'Arcy, on 17 December 1628.1 He died on 2 July 1671 at age 64.1
     He gained the title of 1st Baron Lucas of Shenfield.

     Mary Neville was the daughter of Edward Neville, 6th Lord Abergavenny and Rachel Lennard.1 She married George Goring, 1st Earl of Norwich, son of George Goring and Anne Denny, before 1608.1 She died circa July 1648.1 She was buried on 15 July 1648.1
      From before 1608, her married name became Goring.1

     George Goring, 1st Earl of Norwich was born on 28 April 1585.1 He was the son of George Goring and Anne Denny.2 He married Mary Neville, daughter of Edward Neville, 6th Lord Abergavenny and Rachel Lennard, before 1608.1 He died on 6 January 1662/63 at age 77.1
     He was educated at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He was invested as a Knight in 1608.2 He was Gentleman of the Privy Chamber to the Prince of Wales in 1610.2 He held the office of Gentleman of the Privy Chamber to King James I in 1611.2 He was Lieutenant of the Gentlemen Pensioners in 1614.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lewes between 1620 and 1622.2 He held the office of Knight Marshal of the Household in 1623.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lewes between 1624 and 1626.2 He held the office of Vice-Chamberlain of the Household between 1626 and 1628.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lewes between February 1628 and April 1628.2 He was created 1st Baron Goring of Hurstpierpoint, co. Sussex [England] on 14 April 1628.2 He held the office of Secretary of the Council of Wales in 1630.2 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1639.2 He held the office of Vice-Chamberlain of the Household between 1639 and 1644.2 He held the office of Ambassador to France from 1643 to 1644.2 He was created 1st Earl of Norwich [England] on 28 November 1644.2 He gained the rank of General in 1648 in the service of the royalist forces of Essex and Kent.2 In March 1648/49 he was captured by Parliamentary foreces and sentenced to death, although pardoned and freed in May 1649.2 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1660.2 He held the office of Secretary of the Council of Wales in 1661.2
