     Sir Douglas Alexander, 3rd Bt. was born on 9 September 1936.1 He is the son of Lt.-Cdr. Archibald Gillespie Alexander and Margery Isabel Griffith.1 He married Marylon Scatterday, daughter of Leonidas Collins Scatterday, on 9 August 1958.1
     Sir Douglas Alexander, 3rd Bt. graduated from Rice University in 1961 with the degree of Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was Associate Professor of of French at New York University, New York City, New York, U.S.A..1 He was created 3rd Baronet Alexander, of Edgehill, Stamford, Connecticut, U.S.A. [U.K., 1921] in 1983.1 He graduated from University of North Carolina in 1987 with the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).1 He lived in 2003 at 2499 Windsor Way Court, Wellington, Florida, U.S.A..1
