     Lt.-Cdr. Archibald Gillespie Alexander was born on 29 March 1907.1 He was the son of Sir Douglas Alexander, 1st Bt. and Helen Hamilton Gillespie.1 He married Margery Isabel Griffith, daughter of Arthur Brown Griffith, on 17 June 1932.1 He died in 1978.1
     Lt.-Cdr. Archibald Gillespie Alexander gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in 1942 in the service of the U.S. Coast Guard.1

     Sir Douglas Alexander, 1st Bt. was born on 4 July 1864.1 He was the son of Andrew Alexander and Harriet Newell Hayward.1 He married Helen Hamilton Gillespie, daughter of George Hamilton Gillespie, on 28 September 1892.1 He died on 22 May 1949 at age 84.1
     Sir Douglas Alexander, 1st Bt. was a barrister in 1886 at Canada.1 He was president of Singer Manufacturing Company between 1905 and 1949 at New York, U.S.A..1 He was created 1st Baronet Alexander, of Edgehill, Stamford, Connecticut, U.S.A. [U.K.] on 2 July 1921.1
