William Armstrong, Baron Armstrong of Sanderstead was born on 3 March 1915 at Clapton, London, England.1 He was the son of William Armstrong and Priscilla Hopkins.1 He married Gwendoline Enid Bennett, daughter of John Bennett, in 1942.1 He died on 12 July 1980 at age 65 at Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1
