     Lt.-Col. William Yaldwyn Kington-Blair-Oliphant was born on 10 September 1906.1 He was the son of T/Lt.-Col. Philip Laurence Kington-Blair-Oliphant of Ardblair and Laura Geraldine Bodenham.1 He married Marjorie Winifred Lynas, daughter of W. H. Lynas, on 5 July 1941.1 He died in 1964.1
     Lt.-Col. William Yaldwyn Kington-Blair-Oliphant was educated at Bromsgrove School, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier between 1930 and 1931.1 He fought in the Palestine Campaign in 1936.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 2nd Battalion, Border Regiment.1 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.) in 1940.1 He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1945.1 He fought in the Malayan Campaign between 1947 and 1950.1
