     Sir John Armytage, 2nd Bt. was born on 15 December 1629.1 He was the son of Sir Francis Armytage, 1st Bt. and Catherine Danby.1 He married Margaret Thornhill, daughter of Thomas Thornhill and Ann Trigot, before 1651.1 He died circa March 1676/77.1 He was buried on 9 March 1676/77.2
     Sir John Armytage, 2nd Bt. succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in the parish of Hartshead], co. York [E., 1641] in June 1644.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Troop of Volunteer Horse.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).2 He held the office of Sheriff of Yorkshire from 1668 to 1669.1
     He had seven other sons and five daughters.1

     Margaret Thornhill was baptised on 1 February 1633/34 at Elland, Yorkshire, England.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Thornhill and Ann Trigot.1 She married Sir John Armytage, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Francis Armytage, 1st Bt. and Catherine Danby, before 1651.1 She died in February 1695.1 She was buried on 10 February 1695 at Hartshead, Yorkshire, England.1
     From before 1651, her married name became Armytage.1

     Sir Thomas Armytage, 3rd Bt. matriculated at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 19 December 1668.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in the parish of Hartshead], co. York [E., 1641] in March 1676/77.1

     Sir John Armytage, 4th Bt. succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in the parish of Hartshead], co. York [E., 1641] circa May 1694.1
