     Sir John Robert Arnott, 5th Bt. was born on 9 April 1927.¹ He was the son of Sir Robert John Arnott, 4th Bt. and Emita Emelia James.¹ He married Ann Farrelly, daughter of Terence Alphonsus Farrelly, in 1974.¹ He died in 1981.¹
     Sir John Robert Arnott, 5th Bt. was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Irish Fusiliers.¹ He was editor of the Irish Times.¹ He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Arnott, of Woodlands, Shandon, co.
