     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1923 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the service of the Auxiliary Air Force.1
