     Mordaunt Francis Bannerman was born on 22 December 1907.1 He is the son of Edward Mordaunt Bannerman and Jean Dale.1 He married, firstly, Aileen Sailsbury Virtue, daughter of Elford Virtue, on 16 October 1937.1 He and Aileen Sailsbury Virtue were divorced in 1946.1 He married, secondly, Edna Gladys Thompson, daughter of David Hamilton Thompson, on 1 December 1950.1
     Mordaunt Francis Bannerman gained the rank of Squadron Leader in the service of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1
