Wynyard Philip Bannerman was born on 16 February 1870.1 He was the son of General William Bannerman and Louisa Constance Goddard.1 He married, firstly, Mary Augusta Mosley Cheeke, daughter of George Ashwin Cheeke and Selina (?), on 17 June 1901.1 He married, secondly, Dorothy Beatrice Harris on 4 October 1928.1 He died on 15 January 1930 at age 59.1
     He fought in the Dongola Expedition in 1896.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier between 1898 and 1900.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 31st Lancers, Indian Army.1 He fought in the First World War.1
