Anna Johnston was the daughter of Sir William Johnston of that Ilk and of Caskieben, 7th Bt..1 She married Patrick Wilson Bannerman, son of Charles Bannerman and Margaret Wilson, on 5 September 1826.1 She died on 8 March 1884.1

General William Bannerman was born on 23 September 1828.1 He was the son of Patrick Wilson Bannerman and Anna Johnston.1 He married Louisa Constance Goddard, daughter of Robert Goddard, on 10 September 1868.1 He died on 10 February 1914 at age 85.1
General William Bannerman fought in the Punjab Campaign between 1848 and 1849.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier in 1849.1 He fought in the Persian War in 1857.1 He fought in the Indian Mutiny between 1858 and 1859.1 He fought in the China Campaign in 1860.1 He fought in the Second Afghan War between 1879 and 1880.1 He gained the rank of General in the service of the Indian Army.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).1 He was Colonel of the 104th Wellesley Rifles between 1900 and 1914.1

Lt.-Col. Wynyard Philip Bannerman was born on 16 February 1870.1 He was the son of General William Bannerman and Louisa Constance Goddard.1 He married, firstly, Mary Augusta Mosley Cheeke, daughter of George Ashwin Cheeke, on 17 June 1901.1 He married, secondly, Dorothy Beatrice (?) on 4 October 1928.1 He died on 15 January 1930 at age 59.1
