     Philip Austyn Barran was born on 20 March 1876.¹ He was the son of John Barran and Eliza Henrietta Nicholson.¹ He married Dorothy Currer Briggs, daughter of Arthur Currer Briggs, on 2 January 1908.¹ He died on 8 February 1953 at age 76.¹
