     William Henry Beveridge, 1st and last Baron Beveridge was born on 5 March 1879.¹ He was the son of Henry Beveridge and Annette Akroyd.^1,2 He married Jessy Janet Philip, daughter of William Philip, on 15 December 1942.¹ He died on 16 March 1963 at age 84.¹

(Liberal) for Berwick-upon-Tweed between 1944 and 1945.² He was created 1st Baron Beveridge, of Tuggal, co. Northumberland [U.K.] on 25 June 1946.¹
     On his death, his barony became extinct.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.³
