     Sir Robert Bland Bird, 2nd Bt. was born on 20 September 1876.¹ He was the son of Sir Alfred Frederic Bird, 1st Bt. and Eleanor Frances Evans.¹ He married Edith Wilmhurst Challen, daughter of Stephen William Challen, on 23 July 1904.¹ He died on 20 November 1960 at age 84.¹
     He experimented with early types of automobiles and bicycles, as well early colour photography.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for West Wolverhampton between 1922 and 1929.¹ He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Bird, of Solihull, co.
