     Maj.-Gen. Walter Clarence Black was born in 1867.1 He was the son of Robert John Black and Rosa Sinclair Blow.1 He married Hope Anderson, daughter of John Anderson, in 1899.1 He died on 17 December 1930.1
     Maj.-Gen. Walter Clarence Black was invested as a Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1919.1 He gained the rank of Major-General before 1922 in the service of the Indian Army.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.) in 1922.1
