     Sir John Thomas Borthwick, 3rd Bt. was born on 5 December 1917.1 He was the son of Hon. James Alexander Borthwick and Irene Evangeline Wise.1 He married, firstly, Irene Sophie Heller, daughter of Joseph Heller, on 4 November 1939.1 He and Irene Sophie Heller were divorced in 1961.1 He married, secondly, Irene Fink, daughter of Leo Fink, on 23 January 1962.2 He died on 25 October 2002 at age 84 at New York, U.S.A..2,3
     Sir John Thomas Borthwick, 3rd Bt. was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Rifle Brigade (Territorial Army).1 He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1945.1 He was admitted to Butchers' Company, as a Liveryman.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Borthwick, of Whitburgh House, Ford, co. Midlothian [U.K., 1908] on 29 September 1967.1

     Hon. James Alexander Borthwick was born on 29 January 1876.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Borthwick, 1st Bt. and Letitia Mary Banks.1 He married Irene Evangeline Wise, daughter of George Wise, on 15 June 1912. He died on 20 November 1961 at age 85.1
     On 8 February 1913 he was granted the rank of a baron's son.1

     Irene Evangeline Wise was born on 3 March 1883.2 She was the daughter of George Wise.1 She married Hon. James Alexander Borthwick, son of Sir Thomas Borthwick, 1st Bt. and Letitia Mary Banks, on 15 June 1912. She died on 1 November 1982 at age 99.1
     From 15 June 1912, her married name became Borthwick.1
