     Donald 'Dubh' Macdonald was the son of Angus Macdonald, Master of the Isles and Lady Mary Campbell.1 He died in 1545 at Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland.1
     He claimed the titles of Earl of Ross and Lord of the Isles, as well as the power to make treaties with England.1 Donald 'Dubh' Macdonald also went by the nick-name of Donald 'Dubh' (or in English, 'the Dark').1
