     He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.)1 He was a surgeon with the firm of Evans and Brabant.1

     Thomas Pakenham, 1st Baron Longford was born in May 1713 at Pakenham Hall, County Westmeath, IrelandG.1 He was the son of Edward Pakenham and Margaret Bradestan.2,3 He married Elizabeth Cuffe, 1st Countess of Longford, daughter of Michael Cuffe and Frances Sandford, on 5 March 1739/40.4 He died on 30 April 1766 at age 52.1
     He was educated at Queen's College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Longford between 1745 and 1756.2 He was created 1st Baron Longford, co. Longford [Ireland] on 7 May 1756.1
