     Lionel John Gordon Brabant was born on 7 July 1887 at Tauranga, New Zealand.1 He was the son of Herbert William Brabant and Rosetta Johnston.1 He married Elizabeth Jane McEwan, daughter of James Blane McEwan and Elizabeth Watson, in January 1927 at Hastings, New Zealand. He died on 23 January 1971 at age 83 at Napier, New Zealand.1
     Lionel John Gordon Brabant also went by the nick-name of Jack.1
