     Frédéric I, Duc de Lorraine was born in 912.2 He was the son of Wigerich Pfalzgraf von Lothringen Graf von Ardennengau und Trier and Cunegonde de Frioul.1,2 He married Beatrice Capet, daughter of Hugues of Neustria, Comte de Paris and Hedwig von Sachsen, in 955.2 He died on 17 June 978.1
     He gained the title of Duc de Lorraine in 959.1
