     Jacob I Markgraf von Baden was born on 15 March 1407 at Hachberg.1 He was the son of Bernhard I Markgraf von Baden and Anna von Oettingen.2,1 He married Catherine de Lorraine, daughter of Charles I, Duc de Lorraine and Margaret von Bayern, on 25 July 1422.1 He died on 13 October 1453 at age 46 at Mühlburg, Germany.2,1
     He succeeded to the title of Markgraf von Baden in 1431.2
