     Sir Nicholas Hervey is the son of William Hervey and Joan Cochett.1 He married Bridget Wiltshire, daughter of Sir John Wiltshire.2
     He held the office of Ambassador to the Holy Roman Empire, to Emperor Charles V.1 He was the ancestor of the Herveys of Marks, Essex.1

Henry Hervey, 1st and last Baron Hervey of Kidbrooke1

     Henry Hervey, 1st and last Baron Hervey of Kidbrooke was the son of Henry Hervey and Jane Thomas.1 He married, firstly, Hon. Mary Browne, daughter of Anthony Browne, 1st Viscount Montagu and Lady Jane Radcliffe, in May 1597.2 He married, secondly, Cordell Annesley, daughter of Brian Annesley and Audrey Tirrell, on 5 February 1607/8.2 He died in July 1642, without surviving male issue.2 He was buried on 8 July 1642 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.3 His will was proven (by probate) on 1 November 1648.3
     He fought in the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588, where he distinguished himself.3 He was appointed Knight on 27 June 1596 at Cadiz, SpainG, by the Earl of Essex.2 He fought in the wars in Ireland.3 He fought in the expedition against Cadiz in 1597.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Horsham in 1601.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Petersfield between 1604 and 1611.2 He was created 1st Baronet Hervey, of St. Martin's in the Fields, co. Middlesex [England] on 31 May 1619.4 He was created 1st Baron Hervey of Rosse, co. Wexford [Ireland] on 5 August 1620.2 He was created 1st Baron Hervey of Kidbrooke, co. Kent [England] on 27 February 1627/28.2 His last will was dated 16 December 1637.
     On his death, his titles became extinct.2 He was possibly the Mr W. H. that Shakespeare dedicated his sonnets to.3

     Cordell Annesley was the daughter of Brian Annesley and Audrey Tirrell.1 She married Henry Hervey, 1st and last Baron Hervey of Kidbrooke, son of Henry Hervey and Jane Thomas, on 5 February 1607/8.1 She died circa May 1636.2 She was buried on 5 May 1636 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Covent Garden, London, EnglandG.2
     From 5 February 1607/8, her married name became Hervey.1
