     Andrew O'Neill Wontner-Smith was born on 23 February 1916 at Montreal, Quebec, CanadaG.1 He was the son of Herbert Wontner Smith and Julia Eva O'Neil.1 He died on 18 November 1940 at age 24, killed in action.1 He was buried at All Hallows Churchyard, South Cerney.1
     He was brought to England by his uncle, Thomas Wontner-Smith, after his father's death, and then articled to the Town Clerk of Arundel, Sussex.1 He was a practising Solicitor in 1938.1 He fought in the Second World War, in the Royal Air Force.1
