Amy Ida Martin was born circa 1885 at Charters Towers, Queensland, Australia.1 She was the daughter of Alfred William Martin and Joanna McGrath.2 She married Archibald McLiver, son of John McLiver and Almira Emeline Christian, on 28 January 1909 at Methodist Church, Avondale, Auckland, New Zealand.2 She died in August 1983.1
Amy used to tell the story about her being 14 years of age, working in the munitions factory in Australia in the late 1800's. Her job was to bite the
cordite (a smokeless explosive) and cut it with her teeth!2 From 28 January 1909, her married name became McLiver.2
