     Ewan Christian was born in 1803 at Lewaigue, Maughold, Isle of ManG.1 He was the son of Robert Christian.1 He married Maria Crawford.1 He died in 1874 at Lewaigue, Maughold, Isle of ManG.1
     Ewan was a distinguished pioneer of the temeperance movement in the Island. After his death, the Lewaigue Estate was bought by the Reverend S. N. Harrison.1
