     Charles Chase Ray Nobbs was born on 7 December 1859 at Norfolk Island.1 He was the son of Fletcher Christian Nobbs and Susan Quintal.1 He was baptised on 25 December 1859.2 He married Agnes Allen on 20 December 1888.1 He died on 31 July 1938 at age 78 at Norfolk Island.2 He was buried on 1 August 1938 at Kingston Cemetery, Norfolk Island.2
      He served as 3rd President of the Norfolk Executive Council (1915-16), 6th President (1920-21), and 11th President (1933-34), the latter term which he vacated on 19 May 1934. He then served as the 1st President (1935-36) of the Norfolk Advisory Council.1

Gordina Nobbs1

     Gordina Nobbs was born on 6 September 1892 at Norfolk Island.1 She was the daughter of Charles Chase Ray Nobbs and Agnes Allen.1 She married George Andrew Beveridge, son of Mitchell Kilgow Beveridge and Catherine Bristow, in 1937 at Essendon, Victoria, Australia.1,2 She died on 9 November 1995 at age 103 at Norfolk Island.1
      From 1937, her married name became Beveridge.1 She was a hospital administrator and nurse in 1945.1 On 6 September 1992 on the occasion of her 100th birthday, 100 Norfolk Island oak trees were
planted inside the fence of the Aerodrome on New Farm Road opposite the Nobbs
family home, 'Moira'. The grove of trees were called the 'Oaks of
Righteousness'. She was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
She was educated by a governess at home, then after the Island School, she
graduated from Queens College Summer Hill in Sydney, and took nurses'
training at Sydney & Parramutta Hospitals.1
