     Lt.-Col. Hugh Cane gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 5th Dragoon Guards.1

     Sir Matthew Blakiston, 2nd Bt. was born in 1761 at Mansion House, London, England.1 He was the son of Sir Matthew Blakiston, 1st Bt. and Annabella Bayley.1 He married Anne Rochefort, daughter of John Rochefort and Dorothea Burgh, in September 1782.1 He died on 20 September 1806.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered in October 1806.1
     Sir Matthew Blakiston, 2nd Bt. succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Blakiston, of London [G.B., 1763] on 14 July 1774.1
