     Barbara Elizabeth Juarez was born on 2 January 1929 at Los Angeles, California, U.S.A..¹ She is the daughter of George Anselmo Alejandro Juarez and Inez Katherine Conley.¹
     Barbara Elizabeth Juarez was educated before 1941 at San Luis Rey Academy.¹ She was a Catholic nun between 1949 and 1958 at Mesa, Arizona, U.S.A..¹
     She was strongly influenced by the nuns, and decided to enter the convent of the SS. of the Precious Blood. After studying 3 years at the order's Dayton, Ohio mother house, she professed her simple vows on 15 Aug 1949. She was sent to Mesa, AZ, where she began her teaching career among the Mexican and Indian children.
She remained in the order until 1 Jul 1958, when she left to pursue a lay teaching position and raise a family. She continued to teach on the elementary school level until 1973, when rheumatoid arthritis forced her to retire. She is the genealogist for the George Stewart line. She wrote the book From Mission to Majesty, co-author.²
