Sir John Bland, 4th Bt. was born on 2 November 1663.1 He was the son of Sir Francis Bland, 2nd Bt. and Jane Lowther.1 He married Anne Moseley, daughter of Sir Edward Moseley and Jane Merial Saltonstall, on 31 March 1685 at Chorlton Chapel, Manchester, Lancashire, England.1 He died on 25 October 1715 at age 51, on a journey from Bath to Yorkshire.1 He was buried on 29 October 1715 at Didsbury, Manchester, Lancashire, England.1 His will (dated 24 December 1712) was probated on 7 May 1716.1
He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Bland, of Kippax Park, co. York [E., 1642] on 14 December 1668.1 He matriculated at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 14 November 1670.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Appleby in 1681.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Pontefract between 1690 and 1713.1 He held the office of Commissioner of the Revenue [Ireland] between 1704 and 1706.1
