     Charles Booth was born on 27 October 1868.1 He was the son of Alfred Booth and Lydia Allen Butler.1 He married Grace Bryson Wells, daughter of John Wells, on 2 October 1895.1 He died on 9 December 1938 at age 70.1
     Charles Booth was chairman of Alfred Booth & Company and Booth Steamship Company in 1912.1 He was chairman of the Midland Railway between 1919 and 1922.1 He was a director of Martin's Bank.1 He was a director of the LMS Railway Company.1
