     Richard Charles Brooke Boothby was born on 16 December 1955.1 He is the son of George William Bernard Boothby and Avril Alice Innell.1 He married Fiona Clare Padfield, daughter of Peter Notton Padfield, in 1992.1 He and Fiona Clare Padfield were divorced in 2000.1
     Richard Charles Brooke Boothby was educated at Barry Boys' Comprehensive School.1 He graduated from University of Manchester, Manchester, Lancashire, England, with a Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.).1 He was educated at Salzburg Mozarteum, Salzburg, Austria.1 He was Professor of viola da gamba at Royal College of Music, London, England.1 He lived in 2003 at Fforest, Brechfa, Carmarthenshire, Wales.1
