     Colonel Philip Jones gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Parliamentary Army.1 He fought in the English Civil War.1
     He bought Fonmon Castle.1
     He was a member of Cromwell's 'Other House.1'

     Sir John Jones lived at Fonmon Castle, Barry, Glamorgan, Wales.1 He was invested as a Knight in 1677.1
     He had two daughters by his first wife, who both died in infancy.1
