     Sir John Vansittart Bowater, 4th Bt. was born on 6 April 1918.1 He was the son of Victor Spence Bowater and Hilda Mary Potter.2 He married Joan Kathleen Scullard, daughter of Wilfrid Ernest Henry Scullard, on 22 October 1943.1 He died on 24 April 2008 at age 90.3
     Sir John Vansittart Bowater, 4th Bt. was educated at Branksome School, Godalming, Surrey, England.1 He fought in the Second World War, in the Royal Artillery.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Bowater, of Hill Crest, Croydon [U.K., 1914] on 3 March 1972.1 He lived in 2003 at 214 Runymede Avenue, Bearwood, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England.1
