     Victor Spence Bowater was born on 24 May 1891.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Vansittart Bowater, 1st Bt. and Emily Margaret Spencer.1 He married Hilda Mary Potter, daughter of W. Henry Potter, on 8 February 1917.1 He died on 10 September 1967 at age 76.1
     Victor Spence Bowater gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 4th Battalion, London Royal Fusiliers.1
